Phond Pharewell to Phun at Phipps

Nancy Kline has volunteered to be the phabulous phemale in charge of the OSWP repotting work at Phipps.  She
promises there will be lots of Phun . . . always.

So before handing over the reigns to Nancy, I want to thank the volunteers who have worked so hard and had Phun (I
hope) since spring of 2007!  (If I have missed someone, please understand that it’s strictly a recording keeping error
on my part.)

Thanks to Nancy Kline, Carol Panza, Jack Lucas, Charlie Ashe, the Grajcars, Jo Anne Coleman, Esther Ryan, Linda
Christen, Bee Fenick, Carol Lidiak, the Sherwoods, Kim Ross, Jean Pallitto, Rick Nietert, the Kalupanovs, Joan Fogg,
Carolyn Bolton, Terry Latour, Margie Cohen, the Raiffs, Marlin Vidt, Beth and Ken Marshall, Sara Steelman, Sally
Sabino, Tim Choltco, Paul Spencer, Jim Yamber, Vivian, Nell Hooley, Greg Eddy, Gary Marshall, Bob Jenkner, Dini
Pallito, Donna Fong, Stephanie Bernebaugh, Linda Thompson, Susan Solito, Camille Venturo, Cinie Bonomi, Dave
Mortensen, the Derrs, Karen Dadey, Frank Sadofsky, Sue Rush, Ken Brandenburg, Laura Newbourn, Alfie Chico,
Marissa Flaviano, Sherry Wagner, Colleen DiVito and Chuck Van Dyke, the bark king, who could come up with bark
whenever Phipps needed it.

To all of the above (and those I might have missed) and those who wanted to help on days we couldn’t meet . . . thank
you for you time, efforts and good spirits.  The orchid collection at Phipps thrives on your generosity and we learn
new potting techniques.  Georgia and I thank you for all your help.  Don’t phorget to sign up with Nancy and continue
to have phun!

Demetria Marsh
While Demetria Marsh is leaving her active role at the Phipps Conservatory to concentrate on the Cultural
Study Group, the Pfun will be continuing. Nancy Kline will be coordinating the volunteers in
this effort.
If you are unfamiliar with this OSWP function, here's the scoop:
Typically we do repotting and other orchid related tasks at the Phipps Conservatory two mornings a
month.
We meet in the main lobby of the conservatory at 9:30am and are finished around 1:30pm. In true
OSWP form, we have a break for goodies in the late morning.
Parking is available in the circle in front of the conservatory. PLEASE, put a note behind your windshield,
near your steering wheel that states "Orchid Society Volunteer".
During your volunteer day, you will receive a discount at the gift shop. I believe 20%.
If you have questions or can come in August on the Tuesday the 17th or Thursday the 19th, please call
or e-mail Nancy Kline.
nancykline@zoominternet.net or call 724-687-9796.

Thank you for your continued commitment to the orchids at Phipps and volunteerism
